The 17th Pathfinders is a non-commercial Arma 3 milsim community. This site exists to provide recruitment information and resources to our members. We keep things simple and we do not run a data harvesting operation, but this notice explains what does and does not happen when you visit.
In short: we do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking pixels, and we do not track visitors. The only cookie we set is a sign-in cookie for the small number of admins who log in to edit the site. We do not sell, share, or trade any information about you.
A small number of authorised admins can sign in to edit guides and resources on this site. Signing in is optional and only relevant to those admins. If you are just here to read the site, none of this applies to you and no sign-in is ever requested.
Sign-in is handled through Discord using OAuth. When an admin logs in, Discord confirms their identity to us and passes back a limited set of details: your Discord account ID, username, and avatar, along with confirmation that you belong to our Discord server. We use this only to check that you are on the list of people allowed to edit the site. We do not receive your Discord password, your private messages, or your email address.
Once you are signed in, we set a single 7-day expiry cookie so you stay logged in while you work. This cookie exists purely to keep you authenticated. It is not used for analytics, advertising, or tracking, and it is not shared with anyone. It expiresautomatically after 7 days or when you log out. Public visitors who never sign in are never given this cookie.
This sign-in cookie is the only cookie this site sets, and only admins who choose to log in ever receive it. Everyone else can browse the entire public site without any cookie from us.
Discord acts as the identity provider for this sign-in. What Discord itself does during the process is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy.
Some pages on this site embed video content hosted by YouTube (owned by Google). When a page containing an embedded video loads, your browser connects to YouTube's servers, and YouTube may receive your IP address and set its own cookies in line with Google's privacy practices. This happens directly between your browser and Google and is outside our control.
We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode where possible, which delays cookies until you actually play a video. If you want to avoid this entirely, you can block third-party cookies in your browser or use a content blocker.
For details on how Google handles this data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Links on this site may direct you to our Discord server. Discord is a separate third-party platform with its own privacy practices. Anything you do once you join our Discord is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy, not this notice.
This site and our community are intended for adults and older teens in line with our recruitment requirements. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including minors.
For the small number of admins who sign in to the editor, the only thing we hold is what is needed to control access, and we will remove your access on request. For everyone else, because we do not collect or store personal information ourselves, there is nothing for us to hold, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have interacted with third-party services linked from this site, such as YouTube or Discord, you will need to manage that data through those platforms directly.
If our practices change, for example if we add a new feature that handles data differently, we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
